Diamond adds new search feature to its' site for Comics and Collectables

Diamond Adds Robust Item Search to PREVIEWSworld.com

Press Release

(BALTIMORE, MD) — (August 29, 2018) — Designed to help PREVIEWSworld users better locate comic books, graphic novels, collectibles and other specialty merchandise, Diamond Comic Distributors has added a robust item search engine to its consumer website, www.PREVIEWSworld.com. The newPREVIEWSworld item search features several search criteria and can present data on items as far back as 1992. Search can be accessed from the main page of the website, or directly atwww.previewsworld.com/search.
Advanced search options allow for users to filter their searches by publisher, creator, release date, catalog issue, and item category – such as comics, graphic novels, toys and models, apparel, etc.
When searching by creator and publisher, PREVIEWSworld provides a dropdown box of search suggestions to autocomplete the user’s search.
After the user has entered their search criteria, PREVIEWSworld will display the results in four distinct categories:
  • Preorder Items. Items in the current PREVIEWS catalog, available for preorder from comic shops.
  • New Releases & Upcoming Items. Items just released or items available within the next few weeks in comic shops.
  • Available Now Items. Items that may be currently available at comic shops or can be ordered quickly from Diamond if they are not in stock at the local comic shop. These are items that are in-stock in Diamond’s inventory.
  • Other Items. Mainly older items where availability is uncertain. Users are advised to check with their comic shop regarding the availability of these items.
“Go ahead, search it up!” exclaimed Andy Mueller, Diamond’s Consumer Marketing Manager. “Our new item search makes it much easier for customers to find information on new comics and products coming to comic book shops. Searching by creator is a great tool, that will not only allow customers to find books by their favorite creators, but also allow creators to send their fans a link to their full list of new and upcoming projects.
“The New Item Search is a key first step towards our upcoming PREVIEWSworld Pullbox service,” continued Mueller. “In the future, you will be able to search for what you’re looking.”

Today we get a first look at the new cover for the Kevin Smith penned Hit-Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood. Smith took over the reigns for this four issue mini-series from Mark Millar who recently sold his Millarworld to Netflix. While the majority of his properties where bought by Netflix, Kick-Ass, Hit-Girl and Kingsman remain in Millars' possesion.

Kevin Smith took to Instagram late last night to announce the addition of Pernille Orum as the interior artist for the upcoming series which will debut in January with issue 13. As Smith puts it her art is "...like hot cocoa for the eyes and soul..."
Smith originally announced he would be writing the Hit-Girl series back in May not long after his heart attack scare. "I wrote most of The Golden Rage of Hollywood Hit-Girl arc while recuperating after my health scare, so it was Mindy McCready and her bloody thirst for justice who helped me mend my broken heart," Kevin Smith said. "Telling tales with Mark's toys was an absolute pleasure, but having Pernille bring it all to life makes this a must read for me!"

Smith takes Hit-Girl, who was portrayed by Chole Grace Moretz in the Kick-Ass movie, to Hollywood where the pint-sized vigilante takes her particular brand of violence on the hunt for predators. The story could not be more timely given the current climate in Hollywood and we can be sure Smith will make the most of this story line.
Hit-Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood will hit stores in January of 2019 with issue #13 from Image Comics.
